Marching Band Grand Champions
The CGHS Marching Jaguars won All Around Grand Champion at the 6th Annual Falcon Sound competition this past weekend. The Marching Jags were First Place in their Class and won 13 trophies in all!
We are proud to announce that Coral Glades has five National Merit semi-finalists who are eligible to receive a National Merit Scholarship. Our proud Jaguar Scholars are:

Seat Belt Awareness Presentation
Coral Glades was proud to have Dr. Adam Blomberg on campus Friday morning to meet with the entire sophomore and junior classes. His special presentation titled, "Adam-A Survivor's Story" brought an awareness to the students about driving responsibly.
September Kids of Character Winner
Congratulations to all of the nominees for the September 2008 Kids of Character. The theme for September was COOPERATION, which is working together as a team to achieve a common goal. The overall Kids of Character winner for September was Sarah Darville, who was nominated by Mrs. Schoen.
Coral Glades Receives Five Star
The State of Florida Department of Education has named Coral Glades High School as a recipient of the Five Star School Award for the 2007/2008 school year. Fullfilling the award's rigorous criteria and being named as one of Broward's 70 Five Star Schools verifies that Coral Glades is a model of superior community involvement throught the District.
Attention Students
Visit the Broward County Convention Center on October 16th from 5-8:30 pm to visit with hundreds of colleges and get information on Financial Aid. Students in ALL grade levels are encouraged to attend. The time to start planning for college is NOW!.
Juniors who are not able to attend the College Fair on Thursday, October 16 should come into the BRACE office to pick up a Field Trip Permission Form to attend the Junior Experience on Friday, October 17. Since space is limited, the students that return the completed form first, will be the ones who will be able to go.

PSAT
The PSAT will be given on Wednesday, October 15, 2008. All 10th grade students will take this test or if you are a 9th or 11th grade student who has paid for, and signed up for the PSAT, you will be taking the PSAT test on that day. This is an important test that will prepare you to take the SAT test, which is an important test for college admissions and scholarship applications. University of South Florida campus visits
The Campus Visit Experience is available for all high school students Monday - Friday at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and on Saturdays at 10:00 during the school year. Reserve space at www.usf.edu/campusvisit.
The USF Scholars Showcase is designed for academically-talented students that are scholarship eligible (3.5 GPA with a 26 ACT/1170 SAT). This event will be held on Friday, October 17 from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. To learn more, visit www.usf.edu/USFSS.
